A few of our students, Nour Habib, Hannah Nayar, and Serah Rejan were given the opportunity to present at the Speech language pathology stroke and aphasia interdisciplinary event! Our students were able to present on how stroke and aphasia can impact one’s mental health and what we as psychologists can do to help. It was exciting to collaborate with other disciplines and learn how each of us can serve this community in different ways! Hearing from those who have had a stroke and/or developed aphasia as well as their family members left us feeling inspired and excited to move forward in this career. We are so proud of you!! #clinicalpsychology #mwu #psyd by @mwu_psyd

In our latest Student Spotlight, Clinical Psychology student Talia Coryat shares what drove her to pursue healthcare and how her experiences paved the path toward graduate school. Choosing where to complete an advanced degree is a pivotal decision, and we are deeply grateful Talia chose to bring her passion, drive, and commitment to Midwestern University.

The Behavioral Medicine Club is kicking off the fall quarter! BMC brings students across programs together to use improv as a surprisingly powerful way to practice the skills that matter in clinical care: communication, empathy, flexibility, listening, collaboration, and responding when an interaction doesn’t go quite as planned.

No improv experience needed. The goal is to practice being present, adaptable, and human with the people we care for, while having some fun with each other in the process.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 30 from 12–1 PM in AHS 162.

Curious? Come check it out! Register on Pulse using the QR code, and keep an eye out for upcoming events. by @mwu_psyd

Before they officially cross the stage, we asked them to reflect on their Midwestern experience and share the words that come to mind.

Their answers say a lot about the journey that brought them here. 💙
