Life hack: stop trying to fight the waves and start trusting the flow of the current. The key really is in the surrender 🔑 by @mypilatesmethod

Living life in the slow lane at the moment 🐌🛣️… something I struggle with.

But I’m leaning into the lesson that this season isn’t meant to be fast-paced, comfortable or easy — it’s here to show me what I’m capable of and to prepare me for whatever comes next.

I’ve been resisting the slow pace, wanting answers and trying to make sense of everything… but I think some things just take time.

March felt like a real struggle (mentally and physically). It didn’t help that I had foot surgery which meant no exercise (endorphins are very real 🫠), and everything started to feel pretty heavy.

But moving again is helping, and getting back into my routine — I’m starting to feel a little lighter and brighter.

A reminder (mostly to myself) that bad days are all part of a very good, very sexy life… and that everything, in time 🤍

Trusting the process and keeping the faith (as best I can). Pilates content to resume in good time ♥️

Looking back in my camera role from the last month:

- Mabel’s weekly visit to the office (she’s a city girl now) 💅🏼
- Honestly the best ice cream in London, maybe even the world 👀 (HUGE claim I know) @chunk_provisions 🍨
- The cutest pottery class with @cicistudios_ 🫒
- Catchups at @pophamsbakery 🥐
- Celebrating our gorgeous 🐓💍 @elliotslondon food is always 10/10
- My favourite gut supplement @epetome_co - it’s been a game changer thanks @emthenutritionist

If you’re not feeling the momentum everyone keeps talking about, this might be for you. I’m sure we can all agree there’s been a lot of commentary online about the Lunar New Year this year. I’d argue more than ever before.

I’ve always had an interest and awareness of it, but I’ve also been learning more about the traditions than I have in previous years.

I felt very aligned with the Year of the Snake, and it turned out to be a hard year for so many people. The snake moved some really heavy shit. It wasn’t quick and it wasn’t comfortable. For a lot of us, it felt like being quietly unravelled and held in a place of real discomfort.

Like with many new years, we hold hope and anticipation that things will be better, that we can have a fresh start. Symbolic or not, that reset can be helpful.

So when the fire horse arrived, the narrative online was all about momentum, intensity, acceleration and big forward movement. The sense that things were finally meant to take off and we could leave all the shedding behind. I’d half imagined quite literally galloping into 17th February and beyond and feeling everything shift.

That wasn’t my experience.

There’s often pressure around any “new year”, whether it’s January or now, to feel ready, clear and decisive, to have your shit together and set your intentions. It can feel overwhelming when you’re just not there and everyone online seems to be galloping ahead.

From what I understand, the fire horse isn’t just about movement and acceleration. It feels more rooted in heart space, which can bring vulnerability and a level of openness that doesn’t always feel great. Having spoken to a lot of my friends, many of us have noticed resurfacing emotions, patterns and old habits, so I know I’m not alone in that.

January you were good for the soul - I love the hibernation months each year, I love to work with the seasons and spring with spring - until then this time is sacred for me. I’m trying more to protect my energy, go within and do the stuff that fills up my cup in a slow and considered way.

This Jan had a lot of joy and loveliness throughout:

- Back @studioanatomy_ - soaking up the warmth of hot Pilates - nothing better when it’s cold outside 🔥
- Walks out in nature - it was cold but crisp ❄️ (there was also a LOT of rain which isn’t pictured here)
- First @parkrunuk of the year - which felt goood!
- Followed by tasty pastries from @fika.hackney
- Trying out the new @stablewines for a besties bday 🎈 and it did not disappoint
- Last few weeks at my fave gym @puremusclesgym
- Celebrated another gorgeous gals birthday @steph_bell_
- Groom for Mabes at the best @ragandbonepets - finally found a groomers we love!
- Dinner at @prawnonthelawn 🦐🥂
- Taking advice from my fave ever oracle cards ✨
- Mr moon 🌚 always looking so majestic 🎩

Hope you managed to find little moments of joy in January - I know it can be a long hard month for many but reflecting on the little moments and savouring those will help to get you through ☮️ peace and loveeee angels x x by @mypilatesmethod

It’s easy to forget that moments of joy can live within the darkness. 2025 was the year that cracked me open, taught me countless lessons and forced me to grow in ways I never could have imagined. 2026 is the year I rebuild and I want to document my journey back to finding joy. Here’s a look back at the light from last year and the start of documenting my way back to joy ✨ by @mypilatesmethod

REFLECTIONS… 💭💌 I’ve taken the last couple of weeks to really reflect on last year and the amount of personal growth that happened along the way.

2025 was hands down the hardest and most painful year of my life, not something I ever had on my bingo card but sometimes life throws curveballs you never see coming. There were genuinely moments where I didn’t know how I was going to get through it but looking back I’m grateful for the lessons, learning and growth.

What I have really learnt is how to live in the moment. To take each day as it came. To stop over-planning, over-executing and trying to control every outcome - something I’ve always been guilty of. Instead, I went inward. I learned to listen to my body, reconnect with myself, my intuition, my gut and feel my way through rather than forcing answers.

At the time, I was searching so hard for joy and happiness and honestly, I struggled to find it. But as the year went on, especially towards the latter part, I started to feel some hope again. And now, looking back, I can see that there was joy. Not loudly, not constantly but in small pockets. Moments I couldn’t fully recognise while I was surviving.

This year is about learning to dance in the rain and unpredictably of life. To notice and prioritise those moments of joy when they appear. To be present for them. To stay hopeful. To nurture human connections. To stay grounded.

Coming back to gentle movement this January, reintroducing routine slowly, whether that’s Pilates, the gym or simply moving my body with intention - has reminded me how powerful it can be to return to the basics. Less pressure, more presence. Alongside movement, I’ve created micro habits that help keep me grounded - journaling, meditation, breathwork and learning to slow down. I’ll be sharing more about these habits in future posts if that’s helpful.

If you’re in the thick of it right now, keep going. You don’t need to see the whole path just your next step 👣 🤍 by @mypilatesmethod

Come workout with me…

A quick morning strength training routine to help build muscle, improve definition and start the day feeling strong 💪🏼

This workout includes:

🔥 shoulder press
🔥 narrow chest press
🔥 tricep kickbacks
🔥 deadlifts
🔥 alternating hammer curls

I usually do 8–12 reps per exercise, adjusting based on the weight and increasing progressively as I get stronger. Consistency + progressive overload = growth💥

As you’ll know by now, I find so much solace, comfort and inspiration in these words I come across online, so I like to save them up to share with you too.

It’s easy to forget sometimes where we’re going, what the point of it all is, that we are good enough… and sometimes a gentle reminder is all it takes to bring us back to ourselves. Especially on the weeks where life feels heavier or we’re running on empty.

I’m realising there’s a quiet kind of power in trusting that things will work out for us, even if we don’t have every step figured out. And that along the way, we get to choose the things that calm our soul, steady our energy and make us feel at home in ourselves again.

And maybe it’s just me… but when a blue butterfly landed on me while I was away, it felt like a little reminder that we’re always being guided, even when we don’t realise it. Tiny signs that we’re on the right path — held, supported and moving in the right direction (swipe to the last picture) 🦋

Here are the words that did that for me this month. Which ones resonate the most with you? ✨

Love always,
Em 💌 by @mypilatesmethod
