Opening with @mishanayoga
to dance our bodies free as our warm up,
to then have @mysticsimcha + @milkweed_medicine opening the container with their somatic and spell magick, to then have @ghostpipemusic weave his live percussion and DJing ways to take us on an ecstatic dance journey. We then will close with a sound bath, led by the one and only @allie_on_adventures

Hay, it’s me Simcha
And there was a little rush
Of me getting more popular
On this thing called social media

Maybe it is because you are joining
Those community festivals, retreats and experiences

That we/i do through ceremonies of intention

All the hues of human.
The shadow and the light.
The inner child and the elder.
The wicked cousin in us and the inner humble servant.
The primal protector and the scared one.

This weekend we gather for The Re-Emergence:
a ceremony with the medicines of the earth.

Two altars are waiting for us:
The Sacred Fool and The Inner Elder.

I wrote you from deep in preparation, sharing some behind the scenes of how these journeys are woven, with some Simcha story telling.

As I prepare for ceremony this weekend
I feel into the alter items and pieces of art
That get to come along with…

Two alters are being created to hold us
One for our inner child, sacred fool
The other for our inner elder, connected to the eithers
So we can find our way
Between the two

This traveling ritual book I created
Screamed, “take me with you!”

So she is packed in tight.

🕯️ DJ SPOTLIGHT: GHOST PIPE 🕯️

Philly fam, this one is tender.

On Samhain, Ghost Pipe will play his final set in the Philly area before he heads west. We are so honored that his farewell lands on our dance floor, on the night the veil is thinnest, as Ancestral Rhythms celebrates its very first birthday.

Ghost Pipe is the internationally touring musical offering of Connor Wills, a holistic psychotherapist and professor of psychology and counseling. It is so much more than a DJ set. Connor weaves original production with live, improvised, multi-instrumental percussion, creating space for healing and spiritual growth. His music invites us back into connection with Creator, with the plant medicine path, and with our ancestral roots, through movement and through each other.

His sound leans toward Indigenous music from South America and West Africa, carried with deep respect and reverence for those cultures and their traditions.

Ghost pipe is also a plant that glows white in the dark forest, living by the hidden threads that connect everything beneath our feet. What a perfect medicine to dance with on the night we honor our ancestors.

So come move with him one more time. Come say thank you. Come send him off with all the love this community has to give. 🖤

The stuff I was creating long before AI could make an image.

A reminder to us all that we can create the worlds we ache for.

Let the stories be told from our hearts, through our own breath, sound and movement.

If you wish to create your dreamlike world in ceremony,
where you get to become the very thing
and be captured in your expression of being it,
held by intentional prayer and ritual,

so that it becomes embodied and integrated
as we practice together, here and now...

I’m inviting you to become the altar piece,
with evidence that you already are
who you ache to become.

That your dreams are right before us
when we choose into them.

Let our reflections of one another
remind each and every one of us
that we have everything we need
within us.

That we are never alone,
and that we get to do this
together, side by side.

After my first day of subbing in Philly,
I went to teach Kundalini at @thymetravelersconservatory
and had almost no voice left to chant with.

I had been trying to conquer the room with my voice, the way I watched it done. It didn’t feel like me.

So the next day, I brought my harmonica.
“I’m not here to yell over you. Let me play you into softness, so we can work together.”

By the end of the week, a student asked, “Can you just... be our teacher?” 🥹
