fantastic ending to perhaps the craziest novice season ever documented! two new course records and two golds in the adaptive 1x and inclusive 2x with @kdog_stackin . craziest novice season ever includes:

-won crew classic inclusive 2x (first ever 2k)
-qualified for the national team by 11 seconds (2nd 2k)
-won canadian henley 2k and 500 (3rd 2k)
-world championships heats (4th 2k)
-world championships finals and a sixth place finish after equipment failure (5th 2k ever)

cannot wait to see what this next season has in store and get into winter training!

sixth at our first rowing world championships

while we had fun and learned a lot, i think both of us ended our week in amsterdam disappointed. as we were rowing up to the start line, we were ready to rip and pull as hard as possible, but our equipment had other ideas. about a third through, chance’s seat straps started to break, and then fully gave way around the 1100m mark. this left him unable to put any sort of power into the boat, and what was a great race turned into an effort just to get to the finish line without flipping, as he no longer had any way to stay centered in the boat so our balance was completely off. while this was incredibly disappointing, we’re still happy to have made the first A final in our category for the US since 2018, and the silver lining is the learning experience (custom seats here we come!) safe to say, we both left amsterdam hungry for more and ready to start training even harder for next year!

fun summer short course racing at endeavor games last month!

took down two more american records in the SM10 100 IM and S10 50 fly in less then ten minutes. can’t wait to see what the rest of the season in the pool looks like! (and man is it ironic that they only got pics of my worst stroke lol)
