🎱💥 Huge thank you to @dotworkart for putting together another incredible #JazzNight at @deadbeatblackwood — feat. 🎷(@knee_shoes) Nisarg Shah Quartet and live drawings by Kyle W (@kyleslivesketches)! Deadbeat hosts a jazz band every Wednesday (except the third one of the month, which is reserved for the original music open mic). It truly takes a village of creative people to keep a DIY venue like this running. If you haven't yet done so, please come out for a night of live music and support this *much-needed* original music venue in Southern New Jersey! 😎🫶 (video by me ~ @newloverocks)

💫HAPPY SEPTEMBER! In two Wednesdays, the @deadbeatblackwood #OpenStage returns! 😎Deadbeat is a collaborative space for artists and musicians, featuring live music shows, local artwork, art workshops, and a pretty sweet billiards table. If you're a musician looking to share your music or potentially get your foot in the door for booking a show, the open stage is the perfect event to attend. We have a full house kit (minus cymbals at the moment), professional PA, and a house guitar amp. Sign-ups start at 6:30 and this event series is hosted by B. NewLove of @thescreaminrockets. 👨‍🎤🎸 COME HANG! #newjerseymusicscene #southjerseyarts #PhillyAreaMusicVenue taken in Deadbeat Gallery Venue by @newloverocks

#PhillyFolkFest was pretty awesome this year. I'm grateful for the experience and for the friends, old and new. (You know who you are!) It's been a rough time for me financially, honestly — and it's hard for me to make time to volunteer, no matter how rewarding it is. The icing on the cake was my car's motor blowing on the way up to Folk Fest this year (...all because of a $100 Valvoline oil change). Subaru of Cherry Hill told me it needs an entire new long block — the entire motor needs to be replaced. Music festivals are a luxury I've never been able to afford or access in my adult life. Cool to be there (and to be working the stage), but much cooler to be up on a stage professionally at this phase of my life. Love you all and thanks for following my music and art projects. I've been working hard at @deadbeatblackwood — check the venue out when you have some time. Lots of shows coming up and I'm hosting an #OpenStage there Wednesday September 16th (*every third Wednesday*). Much love, friends. See ya out there, in some form or another. 🫡🌌 by @newloverocks

🚨🎺🎸 I’ve *always* wanted to host an open mic and what better location than @DeadBeatBlackwood ?! FIRST EVER ORIGINAL MUSIC OPEN STAGE WED 8-19 7-9pm! Sign-ups open up at 6:30. Original music preferred. ✍️ Any and all instruments welcome. Drum kit will be set up (drummers will need cymbal stands + breakables). Depending on success, the plan is for this open mic to occur on the third Wednesday of the month! (…first one being August 19th!)
🎤😎🎶
Deadbeat is a space that enables and promotes artists and musicians of all genres, encouraging a culture of creativity and a community made stronger by the arts. There is no cover charge for this event, but limited performance spots are available — first come, first served. Come on by to appreciate the art on the walls, meet some new musicians, and share your music with the world. #openstage #deadbeat #deadbeatblackwood taken in Deadbeat Gallery Venue by @newloverocks

🚨🎭 NEW VENUE ALERT!!! @deadbeatblackwood — grand opening Sat (8/8) noon to midnight! Art exhibition, art market, vending, live music, and a super fun networking opportunity at the grand opening of a NEW community arts hub! I’ve been helping out a bit myself (the house drum kit and PA system might look a bit familiar). South Jersey has been begging for even the smallest of music venues…and this one already feels truly special. COME CHECK IT OUT! 😎 #DEADBEAT #DEADBEATBLACKWOOD #southjerseyarts #newmusicvenue taken in Deadbeat Gallery Venue by @newloverocks

🎙️🎸It was a 🌟RAD🌟 time Sunday night at @twistedtailphl with @mikeyjrblues (and lots of friends) — my first time (but apparently 15 years of blues jams AND Mikey's birthday)! Great seeing and hearing so many talented musicians on stage — glad I was given a chance to sing. In retrospect, wish I had more videos of everyone who joined in. It was very awesome bumping into a couple of old friends, too. Much love, y’all! Maybe I’ll see ya again next Sunday? @kiracappello @jondaremusic @jb.guitar @fulltiltboogie82 @rodneyomen (if I missed a tag, please tag em!) #blues #twistedtailphilly #phillyjams by @newloverocks

🎙️🎸🐊 Had an absolute blast being interviewed by @mightyjoecastro about *Alligator America* on his "Wake Up, You're Rambling" podcast! Inspired by the song's lyrical content, we get fired up about modern American culture revolving around #Christianity, #ArtificialIntelligence, #PoliticalCorruption, and much more! (We also chat about how I started as a songwriter!) I have a feeling you'll appreciate the "realness" of this little "fireside chat." You can listen to the full episode of this podcast on substack now! Much love, everyone! We'll get through these dark times together! 😘✊🗽🇺🇸...LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
