Luke, my BABY boy. Today you graduated!! YOU DID IT!!! I cannot tell you how proud I am of you.

I’ve been contemplating for a while about what to say, how to explain my feelings about my last baby leaving the nest, and truthfully, my brain won’t let me go there. I think the realization that all of my boys childhood years, are now memories is more than it can handle. Maybe this is one of Gods gifts so that I can survive today, and celebrate you the way you deserve to be celebrated.

Luke, I want more than anything, for you to go forward knowing how amazing you really are. I know you think I’m biased, and obviously I am, but you really are such a gift to this world. I get to observe every time you join a conversation or enter a room people’s faces light up. It’s absolutely one of my favorite things about you.

This year has been one of the toughest of your life, you’ve had some physical set backs, and taken some emotional beatings. You’ve endured and kept your head high. Luke, that heart of yours is tender, be kind to it. A lot of things happened that were out of your control and while none of it was easy, you kept your head down and continued to fight and do your best at everything you do. That is a grit that can’t be taught and most people don’t have. Be proud of how you’ve handled everything you were given this year.

I sat in the parking lot a few days ago and listened to this song on repeat just letting the tears fall down my face. You’ve learned some tough lessons this year. I hope you remember that every hard thing has a purpose, and how you react to hard things is what will separate you from being average or being amazing. YOU are definitely amazing. I can’t wait to see all the things you learn, and the beautiful life you will create!! I love you most! 💙🤍

My #2 is 21!!! I think he is occasionally in class, but I definitely get at least one fish pic a week, which means he’s found a healthy school/hobby balance🙏🏽. I love you Matty and am beyond proud of you!! Keep on that grind and keep making your dreams a reality. 🎣 by @nicalfano

Today, words are hard and emotions are high.

My baby, my number three, my caboose is 18 yrs old. There is so much truth to the saying, days are long and years are short. This kid is the definition of fun. He has been fun from the get go, running a million miles an hour, and breaking bones and scarring up his beautiful skin in the process. It was never a question of whether he could keep up with his brothers, it was a question if they could keep up with him. He crawled out of his crib at 6 months old, he was standing on the kitchen counter at eleven months, and jumping from the coffee table, to the couch at 12 months. He has been moving pretty much non stop since I could feel him in my belly. He’s the one to do the things that nobody dares. He’s got a pretty exciting future in store for him and I’m excited to see it all play out. Luke, I love you more than you could possibly know. That mischievous smile absolutely gives me life. ❤️Welcome to adulthood kid, this is going to be a year of lasts that will lead to all of the firsts! by @nicalfano

He’s 25!!

I don’t even want to discuss how old that makes me. I was able to head up north this weekend and spend a little time spoiling my boy, new boots were what he wanted, so new boots is what he got!

Joey, I freaking love you and it doesn’t matter how old you get, I’ll always get teared up when I have to say goodbye. It’s my right as your Mom. 🥹

My #2 is beginning his twentieth trip around the sun today! My Matty has made every minute of these past 19 years better, because he’s been in them. When Matty was little he never wanted to leave home or have me leave him. So many nights were spent singing this song and rocking him back to sleep. Those tender days are distant memories. He’s now living his best life, either on a river, in the ocean or snowboarding down a mountain. . . and occasionally in a classroom. Matty, I love you.
