Sometimes we work so hard to get a seat at a table when GOD, according to His word, has already prepared one for us.

In the last 5 years GOD has pulled out my chair at tables I never thought I’d reach. Easily, I can say that I’m grateful for a seat at “the table,” but His word affirms that HE is preparing a table for me.

I’m honored to say that I’ve been granted the inconceivable opportunity to join with the greatest president ever @barackobama and my new family, some of the greatest people I’ve ever known from the @obamafoundation ‘s My Brothers Keeper Alliance, in breaking new ground to change the course for boys and young men of color!

Everyday, this role affirms and confirm that I’m always where I need to be, at the right time! by @nickphresh

My son and I just sit and stare at this woman while she’s getting ready with big smiles—for two different reasons of course 😋😍🍼

Never cease to amaze me with her accomplishments—wherever she places her feet—and looks good doing it too 🙂‍↕️ She’s HER.

Although this is major, it’s very minor compared to the crown of favor that The Lord has for her. The funny thing is she don’t even know yet lol but that’s why He gave her me 😏 I’ll make sure of it.

It’s been a very obscure and difficult season. So much so that I’ve found myself being passive aggressive with The Lord—you know; waking up everyday acknowledging Him as GOD, but holding a silent disappointment due to what appeared to be His silence. Calling His name even when I internally felt He was ignoring me. Forcing myself to believe in Romans 8:28 when it didn’t feel good.

Somehow I woke up this morning and was reminded:

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalm 91:14-16

The Lord has graced me to manage a mess; to take a mess and make it better.

The same grace placed upon Nehemiah (Nehemiah 2:18).

I enjoy seeing where something(one) is, then playing a role in getting it where it should be with my gift of (re)design.

Your mess is safe with me. It’s a thrill to rebuild.

I still haven’t drawn myself to believe that I’m someone’s father.

However, each time I hold him in my arms it feels like a new reminder. The days can get difficult, as you give it all you’ve got—seen and unseen—while you’re looked upon for answers that you don’t have. However, I sit in awe each time I hold this tiny human being in my hands, blown away by the fact that GOD saw me as trustworthy enough to train him up in the way he shall go. (Proverbs 22:6)

To train a leader—by essence, not by title.
A disciple of Christ.
A great husband and father.
A businessman.
A kind, loving and respectful man.
An intelligent, integral man.
A poised, wise man.
A joyful man.
A strong and courageous man.
To train up a great and mighty man of valor.

Thank you Lord, for the gift and mandate of Fatherhood. I’ll give him my all, as you’ve modeled with me. I pray that I’m always seen as an unlimited source of safety, peace, wisdom and joy for my child(ren). Happy Father’s Day to those who show up, regardless, and don’t quit. You’re an unsung gift to the world. by @nickphresh

Although “an honor” is an understatement—

It’s an honor and feels amazing to be a tiny puzzle piece of such a grand and historic moment happening right here on the Southside of Chicago [a place that’s near and dear to me and my journey]—the opening of The Obama Presidential Center @obamafoundation . For nearly over the past 20 years of being heavily in the public eye, President Barack and Michelle Obama have thoroughly embodied love, excellence and elegance—this center is a clear reflection.

It’s an honor to partner in the great work of @mbk_alliance —transforming the trajectory of the lives of thousands of boys and young men of color—from cradle to career, but most importantly just keeping them alive; and having the opportunity to see our work platformed in the space.

It’s an honor to reflect on how a young black boy from the (dirty) south who had to fight to believe in himself now has a son who will grow up knowing his dad’s name is etched in history, forever, is quite emotional.

I’ve never idolized man, but The Lord has consistently placed and trusted me in many unimaginable rooms. You no longer have to convince me of where I belong. I’m truly grateful to contribute to and be present in an amazing opportunity. taken in Obama Presidential Center by @nickphresh
