What better time than now to officially share my formal work update 😂🥲

For those who’ve asked and others who are curious — YES, I have the privilege of working for My Brother’s Keeper Alliance at the @obamafoundation, and I’m quickly approaching my ONE year anniversary. This year has been nothing short of incredible and I’m overwhelmingly grateful for this work I get to do on behalf of thousands of boys and young men of color across the nation.

I couldn’t imagine embarking on this journey at any other time and being part of history at the grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center! Hope has a permanent home, and it’s right here on the South side of Chicago.

This past week was an unforgettable experience I will cherish for a lifetime. I’m honored to work alongside brilliant people who simply care and share a collective indebtedness to our communities. For months, I’ve pondered what it would feel like being on the other side of all this, and let me tell you — I’m even more inspired than ever before! God certainly is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think!

In such a short time, it has been the greatest honor to play such a very small part in bringing the OPC to life! And I know without a shadow of a doubt I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Even my name has been etched inside, forever, and I’m thankful.

May this Center be a beacon of love, hope, inspiration, change, and joy around the world!

Happy 1st Father’s Day to the best husband and Daddy! 🤍
Levi and I are so blessed to have you as the rock and priest of our home. Watching you step into fatherhood has been one of my greatest joys! From the very first moment you held our son, you embraced this role with love, patience, strength, and devotion. You have a way of making us both feel safe, cared for, and deeply loved.

Thank you for the late nights, the diaper changes, never missing a beat when our baby was in the hospital, the cuddles, the prayers, and for loving Levi so well. He may be too young to tell you himself, but I know he would say that you’re already his hero. Our son is blessed to have a father who leads with integrity, loves with his whole heart, and shows up every single day and I’m blessed to walk this journey beside you.

Happy first father’s day daddy. We love you more than words can express, and we’re so grateful God chose you for us 🫶🏽

Life updates: After 26 hours of labor, being stuck at 9 1/2 cm for 7 hours, and going unmedicated as long as I safely could, Our birth journey shifted from pushing into an emergency C-section to keep me and our baby safe but God is so kind, so present and so loving that even in unexpected shifts,he still shows up 🥺

To the BEST labor crew in the world, thank you isn’t enough. Mom your strength carried me all the way to the end. Alona my girlllllll thank you for covering me, the room, and our baby in prayer every step of the way. & to my husband/the best dad in the world….you never left my side, you gave me courage to keep pushing and you were the first one to reassure me that our prince was here safely. I love you so much!

Thank you to Levi’s village & family for showing up and checking in. Thank you to his Godparents @brandonjclack @cristabelclack & @theeliz_brown & @quezbeused for going above and beyond this entire pregnancy/recovery & all of our friends/family who are checking in/praying….We love you all so much 🫶🏽

Last thing: My milk came in today! It may not look like much now but it’s God answering a prayer for his daughter. SHUT UP DEVIL!

Our hearts are so full! Thank you to our Reformation Memphis family, our pastors, friends, and everyone who came together to shower our sweet baby boy with so much love today. From the laughter and dancing to the genuine joy and community, it made our hearts warm to know we have family here away from home.

We had the best time celebrating, laughing, and loving on all of his new aunties and uncles 🤍 Thank you to everyone who had a hand in planning, decorating, cooking, serving, and showing up so intentionally. Your love, generosity, and support mean more to us than words can express. Baby boy is already so loved & covered, and we are so grateful. Mama bear is entering month 9 and ready to meet that sweet little face! 🧸

We celebrated our “First Rodeo” for our little baby boy and our hearts are so full. 🤠Thank you to everyone who helped make this beautiful surprise happen and to those who took the time to plan, cook, decorate, travel and truly show up for us in such a meaningful way. Your love means more than we could ever put into words. 🤍
