Quiet Storm 8b (v13)

A fun one from July! Because of the warmer temps this summer, the idea was to try a lot of different boulders rather than getting stuck on one hard climb.
On my last day that trip, I decided to try Quiet Storm, as I wanted to check out a new boulder that could potentially become a future project. It quickly felt within reach, which brought its own set of mental challenges that come with new expectations. A big part of it was trying to trick my brain into feeling detached from the outcome, even though I care deeply about climbing and being able to express myself through it.

In the end, I was just happy to climb it and share the session with @romy_fx who also did it that day 💖🌸🌈👯‍♀️

Hazel Grace 8b+ (v14)

I had a nice couple of days climbing in Gottardo revisiting some old projects and exploring new ones.
Hazel Grace is a boulder that combines two types of climbing styles and the second part was definitely the hardest for me. I had to become more familiar with movements I’m less accustomed to and repeat them over and over until I felt comfortable doing them and gained enough confidence to trust I would be able to do them from the ground.
Felt like a few days densely packed with experience. So much love for the process, struggles and all 🙂‍↕️

Lonesome animals (8a+/v12)

Tried this rig a few days ago with @kyra_condie and @_calebrobinsonn and got hooked on it!! Nervous but so psyched to come back for a second session on this one on my very last day in Joes and somehow found myself at the top!

For MHW Climb Athlete @ninaarthaud the feeling that comes from giving everything you have and, when you least expect it, having everything come together on a boulder is why she loves climbing. This is what she experienced sending Backwash (v12) in Val Bavona, Switzerland.

“I’d already tried the boulder several times and honestly thought I was too tired to send it that night. But I wanted to give it one last try anyway. Once I left the ground, everything started to flow. I still had to fight through the last moves, but I wasn’t really thinking anymore. I was just climbing.

Reaching the top caught me by surprise. It’s hard to describe this feeling, but it’s probably the reason I keep coming back. I felt deeply grateful to experience a moment like that.”

Formally in the comp scene and focused on the passion in the process, new MHW Climb Athlete @ninaarthaud is drawn to sending bold and artistic projects outdoors.

Some to note include The Swarm (V13/V14) and Direct North (V14) in Bishop, as well as Gnice (5.14a/8b+) in Valais. “Climbing has taken me to inspiring places, introduced me to incredible people, and allowed me to be a part of a strong, supportive community.

“What motivates me most is committing fully to projects that matter to me - putting in the time, learning patience, and growing through the mental challenges that climbing constantly brings.”
