This sculpture at the Pantheon which we saw on our recent trip to Paris keeping resurfacing in my mind.

It is titled: TO THE MEMORY OF THE ARTISTS WHOSE NAMES HAVE BEEN LOST

It’s by Paul Landowski
And is dated between 1912 and 1914

The descriptive plaque read:

This work stands out from the rest of the monument’s sculptures: instead of honouring revolutionary ideals or the Enlightenment, it commemorates ordinary, unknown individuals, artists forgotten by the passage of time. by @ninalemon

It’s with great sadnesss that I am sharing the news that my Dad John passed away last week. Dad was diagnosed with Parkinsons almost a decade ago and the illness dramatically impacted the last years of his life. Instead of flowers we are asking people to make a donation to Parkinsons UK in his memory. Link in bio. by @ninalemon
