@Oakley Juliet @cactusjack Signed by @travisscott

I'm very grateful to have these pieces in my collection. Thank you for the signatures, @travisscott. I'm glad you liked the Juliet Brown. Thank you so much to the Oakley and Travis team for making this happen. You guys are amazing!

Born Jacques Bermon Webster II on April 30, 1991, in Houston, Texas, Travis Scott spent his early childhood in South Park before moving to Missouri City. Raised in a musical family, he developed a passion for music at a young age and left college to pursue it full-time. After his parents cut off financial support, he endured homelessness, sleeping on studio floors while chasing his dream.

His persistence paid off when Kanye West discovered his talent, leading Scott to contribute to projects including Cruel Summer and Yeezus. He soon emerged as one of hip-hop's biggest stars with Rodeo, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, Astroworld, and Utopia. Beyond music, he built Cactus Jack into a global creative brand through landmark collaborations with Nike, Jordan Brand, McDonald's, Fortnite, and more.

Long before partnering with Oakley, Travis was one of the brand's most influential informal ambassadors, regularly wearing iconic archive pieces such as the Juliet, Over The Top, and Mag Switch, as well as some amazing custom pieces by @courtneymc . His futuristic, industrial aesthetic helped reintroduce Oakley to a new generation of fashion and streetwear enthusiasts.

In June 2025, Oakley appointed Travis Scott as its first-ever Chief Visionary, recognizing his role in the brand's cultural resurgence. Working closely with Oakley's design team, he has helped shape the company's creative direction while blending high-performance eyewear with contemporary streetwear.

One of his first signature projects was the revival of the legendary X-Metal Juliet. Alongside the limited public release, Oakley produced an ultra-exclusive Friends & Family edition for Travis Scott and his inner circle, making it one of the rarest modern Oakley releases and an instant grail among fans and collectors.

OAKLEY FAMILY 2026 🇺🇸

THANKFUL THURSDAY— I grew up idolizing Oakley. As a kid, it was more than a brand to me. It was a feeling, an idea that someone out there was building a world on their own terms.

When I walked in the door as a graphics employee in 1997, I thought I knew Oakley. I was naïve. It didn’t take long to realize something different was happening in the process, something you couldn’t see from the outside.

Over the years I had the privilege of working closely with Jim to try to answer one question: What makes something Oakley?

It was hard. Grueling. Mind-bending. A couple of times it came close to breaking my spirit and my career. But that struggle is where the real understanding came from.

When I got to sit down with Jim on camera and talk about that journey. It was an honor I won’t forget. Knowing that putting pen to paper on what Oakley truly is meant something to him is something I’ll be grateful for forever.

Here’s what I’ve learned. Oakley has always been misunderstood. People see the futuristic shapes, the organic forms, the metal, the rust, the spikes, the skulls, and they think that’s the starting point. It isn’t. Those things were never the idea. They were the outcome.

What has always driven Oakley is a mindset. Logic. Purpose. Distinctiveness. A way of thinking that refuses the expected and then proves it can be done.

Nearly three decades in, I’m still learning from it. And I’m still that kid who couldn’t believe a brand could feel like this.

To everyone who’s been a part of the story.

Thank you @oakleyprivatecollection and @brnagringa__ for putting an event together to share what it means to the collectors. taken in Oakley's Interplanetary Headquarters by @oakleyprivatecollection

Romeo 1 "X metal spine"

What is your favorite Xmetal?

Romeo 1 is my favorite of all time.

Created by the master @peteryeedesign , this iconic sunglasses was the first 3D sculptured all-metal frame. "An evolutionary application of a new metallurgical process and a breakthrough in structural physics”.

The Oakley X‐metals took 3 weeks, over 27 different machines, 425,000 watts of electricity at 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit, and passed through 75 pairs of hands to manufacture.

Pourpose Beyond Reason.

I love that picture and how it resembles a human spine.

The Medusa is one of the most iconic and wild designs Oakley has released in its 50-year history. It was officially released in 2002 for a retail price of $500 for the helmet and $250 for the goggles. The Medusa is made of dark brown leather with pale/pastel stitching. Leather tubes resembling hairs or snakes are stitched to the helmet, hence the name inspired by the snake-haired Medusa from Greek mythology. It was available in two sizes: Small/Medium and large/extra-large, and it was available for purchase until 2008.

Nowadays, it's one of the most desired and sought-after items by Oakley collectors worldwide. You probably won't see anyone wearing it on the streets unless you are at raves and festivals in Brazil, where this item became the signature of Brazilian Oakley enthusiasts.

Jim Jannard was an enthusiast for drag racing. In 1999, he decided that Oakley would sponsor Scotty Cannon, six-time IHRA Pro Modified champion, on his debut at NHRA. The Medusa appeared as a prototype during that same time and was inspired by the skull caps used by pilots during World War I. The first version of the Medusa had goggles integrated into the helmet, and there are pics of Jim and Scotty wearing this first Medusa version at some NHRA events.

The official release was made of leather, and there are three variations, the main differences regarding the number of hairs/dreads and their positions. I will show the differences in another post.

Oakley C- Six

This is a very rare and iconic model that was released in 2009. It's part of the Elite Collection. Oakley commercialized this design in two configurations: 250 units of the Full Carbon Fiber with titanium spine, the one shown in this post, and 1500 units of Carbon Fiber and Aluminum ( I will show in another post).

Oakley collaborated with Crosby Composites, a metal milling company responsible for producing the C-Six. Yes, this is a full carbon fiber sunglass machined in the UK at a facility that made many parts for Formula 1 teams.

Each pair of C-Six sunglasses has its own laser-engraved plaque and line box that can be used to display the pair. There is also a DVD with a video explaining the process of making the C-Six,  you can watch the video scrolling to the last pic. taken in Oakley's Interplanetary Headquarters by @oakleyprivatecollection

Over the Top Camo with Jade

1 of 1 Painted and Signed by Brian Takumi @briantakumi, VP of Brand Soul and Creative at Oakley.

The Over the Top first publicly appeared in the 2000s Summer Olympics. Designed by the master Peter Yee @peteryeedesign with the guidance of Oakley Founder Jim Jannard @jimjannard, a.k.a Mad Scientist.

This model is a milestone in the history of Oakley, and the work done by Brian is incredible! I'm very grateful to have this in my collection.
