A strong foundation for the next generation!

“Big Island Junior Va’a (BIJV) is a diverse, community-driven youth outrigger paddling program proudly partenerd with Hawai’i Island Paddlesports Association (Non-Profit 501 (C)3). Our mission is to empower the next generation of competitive young paddlers in the OC-1, V-1, and 6-Man outrigger canoe.
Founded in 2019, BIJV offers a year-round program that combines Hawai’i’s cultural traditions with a progressive approach. Through rigorous training, worldwide competitions, team-building events, and community involvement, we encourage each paddler to grow in skill, character and confidence, helping them to excel at their highest level.”

Register for the Middle States Regatta!

A day of sprint and distance races for all paddlers at the historic and newly remodeled Washington Canoe Club. We will be hosting 200-meter and 500-meter sprint races for all types of boats in the morning, followed by a 10-kilometer distance race (ECORA points series race for OC1/2).
