Arnold Palmer once said of @tralee.golf.links that “he only designed the front nine and the back nine was designed by God.”

It’s hard to argue, but whoever it was, they created something very special here. A truly incredible place and a privilege to play thanks to @eigtravel and @fescueanddunesgolf

Only thing better than the course was the company, a fun day with @tjnindc @newladygolfer @mazelynt @lowcut_rf and our caddies Shaun and Darragh.

We had an incredible hour out on the grass with three-time major winner @padraigharrington down @royalbirkdale with @mercedesbenzuk last week.

Paddy’s Golf Tips live and in person were amazing. He was so generous with his time and had to be just about dragged off the short game area by @mrandrewcotter to get us all back in for lunch before heading to the first tee.

Here’s l just a snippet of the insights and advice given.

Lucky to be amongst the first people to hit shots at the new @eastwoodtwelve which opens at the end of the month. Great to get a walk around the course and meet the team behind it. It’s looking fantastic and with a 12 hole routing will be an interesting proposition for many in the area and beyond.

Some gifts are better than others. And some are truly special.

My friends and clients at @fescueanddunesgolf recently celebrated their fantastic first year in business, and to mark the occasion they sent me this beautiful embroidered, single-pocket @mackenziegolfbags golf bag as one of those who had helped them along the way.

An incredibly thoughtful gesture, and a truly wonderful gift from Tim and Joe that I’ll cherish for years to come.

It’s been a pleasure to be a small part of the journey so far with @andgolf_co and here’s to year two and beyond! Exciting times ahead.

Looking forward to catching up in St Andrews in a couple of weeks for @elevategolf_net

A Sunday walk round The Old Course @thehomeofgolf for the @dunhilllinks with the family, it doesn’t get much better than that. One of my favourite places with my favourite people.

Obligatory visits to @toppingsstas @thedunveganstandrews @tsquared.social.sta @8golfplace and of course, @jannettas_gelateria to complete a great Sunday.

Day 1 of the @dunhilllinks at @carnoustiegolflinks and for a welcome change, the sun was shining. It’s always a pleasure to walk inside the ropes with the groups and something that I look forward to every year. Carnoustie is always a special place but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the course in better condition than this year. It was immaculate and a testament to the team involved.

Carnoustie Links through a different lens.

Marshalling out on the fairways @dunhilllinks means watching every tee shot closely, picking up the ball in flight, tracking where it lands for your playing group and helping keep play moving.

This year, my @shot_scope PRO X rangefinder proved to be an invaluable tool. From our position up the fairway, the optics made it easy to pick out players on the tee and follow their shots against the backdrop of the links.

A rangefinder usually helps you work out where you’re going.

At the Dunhill, it helped me see what was coming.
