POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
In honor of the new Sense and Sensibility movie coming out this weekend, I thought now was a better time than never to talk about my own experience with the Jane Austen story.

Two years ago, my college put on this show as part of their theatre season that year. I had no idea what this story was about. I had never even heard of Jane Austen. I didn't think I'd be a great fit for the show, but I auditioned for it anyway. To my shock, I was called back! Now, even though I still didn't have the slightest idea what the play was about, I knew I had to go all in with these callbacks. Especially because the show was being directed by @roberthubbard.theatre (Dr. Bob), someone I looked up to earnestly in the theatre space and still do to this day.

Despite the callbacks going really well, I was so nervous as I wondered, like most actors, if I gave the best performance I could. You could then imagine how overjoyed I was to find out that I got cast! It was like how I imagined getting cast in a Christopher Nolan movie would be. I know Dr. Bob would humbly disagree, but that was how excited I was to work with him. That excitement then grew tenfold when I read the amazing script, fell in love with my character John Dashwood, wore my favorite outfit I've ever worn in theatre, and I had an amazing and talented scene partner bringing John's devilishly enchanting wife Fanny Dashwood to life.

Sense and Sensibility also came at an "interesting" point in my life. I was struggling with mental health to the extent that I didn't think things would get worse but life then brought me down to a new low. It was one of the hardest times of my life. Thankfully, I have Dr. Bob to thank for walking alongside me in that struggle and bringing out the best in my performance. To the extent that I could escape those struggles for even the slightest moment on stage. It is because of that experience that I will always cherish Sense and Sensibility. I not only grew as an actor, but I got to escape to the beautiful, wonderful world of the Dashwoods. I'm now so excited to see the movie and revisit that world as I reminisce on those moments I had two years ago that truly made life worth living. by @official.loganthooft

Been thinking a lot about these guys lately.

I didn't have time to post this initially with ✨finals✨ and ✨graduation✨ at the time but this is still something important I wanted to share.

Three years ago, I was gifted the opportunity of being a discipleship group leader on my resident floor in Hospers. Discipleship group (or D-Groups conventionally) is such a great outlet on the Northwestern College campus in finding Christ like community and fellowship with the people you're living with for the entire school year. Getting the call to lead my floor in discussion was and always will be one of the greatest prospects of my life. Something I've learned while doing this job is that even though I was the D-Group leader, the people that consistently show up are what really make D-Groups what it is. So many people have come and gone from the group as the years went on but one thing always stayed the same. Everyone's willingness to be a part of a community with each other and that right there is the lifeblood of any and all D-Groups.

I have to say, too, that some Tuesday nights were really hard on me to put on D-Groups. Sometimes, I would force myself to lead one even though school was dragging me through the mud. But I wouldn't have it any other way because every Tuesday was something to look forward to. The picture above was my very last discipleship group, in which 18 people showed up throughout the night, both people on my floor and a few others from different floors. To end off my time with D-Groups like that has remained one of the highlights of my year! I'm very grateful to each and every one of these people for being there and for being a presence in my life while I was a student at Northwestern. I miss these Tuesday nights so much more than I could've ever imagined.

Praying for these guys as they continue on with their school year and for the new D-Group leadership this year. I know you guys are doing a great job! Miss you guys a lot, rooting for you on this side, and keep on standing out! 💪🏻❤️ by @official.loganthooft

Just a daily reminder that men need to treat women with the utmost respect.

That's not a "political" conversation. It's not an abstract concept. It's basic human decency.

Happy Batman Day!

Batman is my favorite superhero of all time. Quite possibly my favorite character in all of fiction. Bruce Wayne's tale of tragedy turned heroism is one of the most iconic heroes' journeys as it has stood the test of time since Batman debuted in Detective Comics issue 27 in 1939. Batman is a character that has reached so many people and means a lot of things to them. I was introduced to Batman growing up watching the 2004 animated series and playing the first LEGO Batman game on the Wii with my brothers. His world has always mesmerized me as Gotham City had all of these threats, from regular crooks wearing spandex to literal monsters, yet one man in a bat costume chose to stand against the injustices in his city and not stop fighting until justice is served. Batman may not have superpowers, but his superheroics come from him being human and possessing great determination to right the wrongs in his city. I love this character so much and what he stands for! Here's hoping that in the years to come, Batman remains a symbol of justice and perseverance that many more fans can look up to and see a hero in themselves as well.

Never forget the lives that were lost or the heroes that sacrificed everything to protect their fellow people during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. 25 years later and their valiant acts of service will not be in vain as we follow in their footsteps of wholeheartedly serving others.

THIS shh means something to ME, man! 🥹

Cars came out when I was only 2 years old. I didn't get to watch it till it was long out on DVD when I was 6 years old! It's been a big part of my life since and I never thought I'd get the chance to see it in the theater like all the lucky folks back in '06. Let alone in 3D! Genuinely one of the best movie experiences of my life as I saw adults that were probably in their late teens, early 20s when Cars originally came out that were now taking their kids to witness such greatness! I hope childhoods continue to be made with this movie and, if in the next decade they rerelease Cars for its 30th anniversary, hopefully I'll have kids of my own that will enjoy this movie and blasting Life is a Highway like their old man. I won't even need to know where I'm going, I just need to know where I've been and pass it down to them. Thank you so much Disney, Pixar and all the creatives involved in making such generational art and allowing people of all ages to connect with the beautiful world of Radiator Springs. by @official.loganthooft

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!

For those of you that don't know me well, Batman is my all time favorite superhero. In the decades since Batman debuted in the 1940s in Detective Comics, he has gone through several storylines, made essential developments in his character and has been adapted countless times by several creative visionaries. One of those adaptations is the Absolute Batman comic run written by Scott Snyder and drawn by Nick Dragotta in most issues! This run has been very popular since it launched in the fall of 2024, reinventing Batman as a mid 20s, middle class, blue collar worker fighting impossible odds against the corrupt, rich and powerful of this world's absolutely terrifying Gotham City. With none of his classic gadgets or wealth, this Batman faces villains of unimaginable horror while still working a 9-5. Despite only being one man, he sees that something is wrong in Gotham and that he can do something about it by doing what is right. Him still choosing to fight, no matter how impossible it may seem, is one of the main canonical reasons why Batman is my all time favorite superhero.

These issues have been so incredibly written in reinventing Batman while staying true to who he is that I knew I had to lock in on every issue whenever they come out. That includes his team ups with the Absolute version of Wonder Woman or the new spinoff starring his girlfriend Absolute Catwoman 😅❤️. What Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, and the rest of their team have been doing with this comic series is "absolutely" incredible! Every issue they find a way to surprise me with how they reinvent Batman for the Absolute Universe.

I was then hit with extensive glee when I heard the news today that this instant classic comic run is being adapted into an animated TV series by the same creative team! This comic series isn't even two years old yet and it's already getting adapted into the animated television format! I'm not joking when I say that this is the most hyped I've been in a while when it comes to pop culture news! Whenever this show comes out, I'll be there no matter what, collecting all the issues at the same time!

Thanks so much for reading! 😁 by @official.loganthooft

This is your friendly neighborhood reminder to go out and create something today.

On September 19th, 2025, I was in the Black Hills, marveling at the beauty of its wilderness. It was at that moment that an idea floated in my head and I knew I had to get it on the page. So, without an outline but the simple idea, I began writing this short film. In the time since, school and life have forced this project to take a back seat but it never left my mind. This was an idea I had to see fully realized, no matter how long it would take. After 37 weeks, on June 5th, 2026, I finally completed my short film script titled Hungry for Love.

Without giving too much away, the story follows a man who desperately tries to help his wife when she succumbs to a terrible illness... that leaves her with a never ending hunger... That's about as basic as the premise gets without diving too deep into the intense darkness of the script. This is a story about love and the cost of preserving that love through even the worst circumstances. It's about choosing whether to hold onto that love or letting it go once it becomes a threat to your own safety. This is a story I would never have thought I would write several years ago but I'm so glad that I did and I'm really proud of how it turned out.

This is only the first page of the script. If you want to read the full script, DM me with your email and I'll be sure to send it your way. In the meantime, go out and write your own stories. No matter how weird they may appear, your stories are special because they are specifically yours. And who knows, someone out there may find value in your story and connect with it like you'd never believe. So, all that being said, go create something and remember most of all #aiisnotart by @official.loganthooft
