It’s good to be back!

I haven’t been volunteering for rescue work since I ended up in a wheelchair in 2021. Now I’m back and there’s no shortage of entertaining dogs to train 🤩

The expression she makes when I clean her wrinkly face is my favorite 🥹

My first Super Zoo was a blast. I had such an incredible time with some wonderful people. Always looking forward to finding out where dog training will take me!

For the past few years, I’ve been an instructor for dog trainers across the country. I’ve driven hundreds of thousands of miles and spent months on the road to teach.

My van life travels look glamorous, but the truth is, I wouldn’t have picked this lifestyle. I was pushed into it. I’ve always driven because flying wasn’t an option for me.

This past trip to Georgia and Washington was the first time that I was physically strong enough to walk through an airport terminal. I’ve been on a long journey of recovery after surviving being hit by a drunk driver which left me in a wheelchair for two years.

Becoming strong enough to walk through an airport is a milestone I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time 🥹

Look out world, I’m no longer stuck in the continental US! ✈️

A little while ago, I made the difficult decision to leave a dog training organization that had been part of my life for many years. Since then, there has been a hole in my heart left by the community that I lost.

Last week, I hung out with trainers from far & wide as we came together for the IACP conference. It was such a wonderful experience to be surrounded by like-minded trainers again.

Every day of the conference was so much fun. From learning about the scientific break down of dog behavior, to going on a haunted ghost tour, to playing shaping games at 3am, we made so many priceless memories.

My heart is full once again, and I’ve found my people ❤️ taken in Savannah, Georgia by @ohheyjaclyn

Conference is over, time to go. What a wonderful week filled with new friendships and new knowledge. I am so happy to have found a community to call my people ❤️
