Chileeee , we got one year down with our lifetime to go . Folks have been asking me what year one has been like. If I had to describe this first year, I’d say it has been beautiful, stretching, humbling, uncomfortable, healing, and real. We’ve laughed hard, loved deeply, gotten on each other’s nerves, had moments where we didn’t understand each other at all, and had to learn that loving someone and learning how to be married to them are two completely different things. Marriage has held a mirror up to both of us. It has shown us where we’re strong, where we’re still growing, and where love requires more than a feeling, it requires intention, accountability, grace, forgiveness, communication, and the willingness to keep choosing each other. This first year was ours. Real, imperfect, sacred, and full of lessons I know we’ll carry into every year that follows. #wifehood #marriage by @okdevvy

Anyway, man… I’ve put in SO many hours in the kitchen over the past 4 years that cooking has become second nature.

I’ll be out living my regular day and then—BOOM 💥—a recipe idea hits me.

That recipe idea turns into a big grocery haul… which turns into more cooking… which turns into more content ideas. 😂

And honestly, that’s when you know you found something that’s really yours.

Point of the matter is: choose a career that doesn’t feel like work, and you won’t have to work a day in your life.

As a culinary content creator, everybody always says, “Get the content.” 📸🎥

But what about when the content is getting YOU?! 😂

My phone AND camera died right in the middle of me getting my ravioli on. Homemade, might I add. 😮‍💨🍝

But you know what? I kept going.

Because sometimes you have to remember why you started cooking in the first place. Not every moment needs to be captured. Not every dish needs a full production.

Although I only got the final result and not the process… I kept going.

One of my goals as a chef is to leave little pieces of DMV culture everywhere I go. ❤️🦀

The DMV will always be home, no matter where life takes me. It’s in me, not on me lol.

Today, I’m sharing something unique that still brings that DMV flavor and feeling to the plate. 👀

I’ll be hosting a few dinner parties here in Charlotte this year, and trust me… this one is definitely making the appetizer lineup. 🔥
