Throwback to a unique repair challenge on a fantastic concrete fireplace surround that was badly damaged from water intrusion over the years. When I got there it was very powdery and crumbly with some of the details completely gone. Aaaaaaaand we fixed it. by @oldhouseartisan

Before and after of a Batchelder fireplace. We repaired and restored it to it’s original beauty. The house was built in Claremont in the 1920’s. We are behind with posting pictures but we will catching up soon. Stay tuned. #pacificcoasttileinstallation #tilerestoration #vintagetile #batcheldertile #tilefireplace taken in Claremont, California by @oldhouseartisan

A contractor drilled through the exterior wall into this wonderful little tile mural in a #sandiego home. The driving took longer than the repair… all good tho. Got to catch up with some folks on the phone. taken in San Diego, California by @oldhouseartisan

It’s been great training up Jonathan to do this restoration work. As many of you know the torch often does not get passed on specialized skills and knowledge. Be sure to pass on whatever the next generation will need to be excellent caretakers of our architectural heritage! by @oldhouseartisan
