from the ongoing series of my newest works,

“Diazepam”
Aluminium packets from diazepam tablets, plastic, cotton threads, rechargeable LED light, teak wood.
41 x 53 cm
February 2026

Little did people know that benzodiazepines consumption is currently being debated at large —whether it’s harmful to an extent, whether we need it at all, etc.

Focusing on the packets of Valium placed in a first-aid kit-inspired wooden box, the act of opening it to illuminate the stitched packets symbolizes a small enlightenment with a touch of awareness. Some people do need this particular medication in order to function, but also to use it as a shortcut to function quickly after an episode within a world that somehow uses productivity as a measuring unit of an individual’s value in any kind of industry, and even in certain lifestyles.

(the piece is not sold, it’s just the title)

“SOLD!”
Aluminium sheets from fluoxetine packaging
and cotton threads on felt
31 x 22 cm (including dark teak wood frame)
February 2026

After constantly taking Prozac/Noxetine for nine years, I’ve started collecting the remnants of it and realized the red dots with a K inside that indicated the medicine as ‘keras’ or presciption’s only reminds me of the red dots galleries have put to indicate their sold artworks. The idea of accumulated consumption paired with the commodification of works in the art market intrigues me, hence the exploration.

I simply just stitched the empty packages together on felt and focused on composition, but the harmony does not only touch the elements of art side of things, but also to just symbolize the act of putting together your broken, wounded self over and over again.

Hope a lot of people can feel represented by this.

from an ongoing series,

“Upcycled Mindset”
Fluoxetine, aluminium packets, red cotton threads
14 x 17.5 cm, without frame
October 2026

One of my resident artists took me to a thrift store down in Kerobokan area. Although it was overwhelming, I found my brain to be able to find patterns and materials that exude ‘comfort’ and ‘domesticity’ aspects of life. I’ve decided to incorporate these fabrics and upcycled them together with my generic fluoxetine packets.

This piece is more of a small and focused version of my ongoing series about psychiatric medications and its duality in consumption: between effort of breaking stigmas and the tendencies we have on how easy it is to abuse them.

P.S. It’s still unframed. Custom frames can be requested.

• Gouache Day with George Popov

We tried to do a trial workshop today but our co-founder gave up and ended up making a content for those of you who wants to get to know more about George and his thoughts on painting with gouache.

Anyone interested in taking a proper painting class with our main artist one day?

• Artist Narrative: Olivia De Blanche

Olivia found us through our main artist during an exhibition in Pererenan. She came to our residency this September with a strong determination to explore as much as she can within her art practice. Dedication and consistency have been a big part of her approach every single day. Studio visits with her had been such delights, especially over coffee, tea, and the smell of incense, often in the morning.

We must say that this is one of our most successful resident artists in the context of our concept as a process-based residency. Olivia was able to take her process seriously and grow deeper into her artistic identity —which is what we had always aimed for every artist who comes for our customized program.

Olivia’s going to continue her colorful art practice further, both parties are very sure of that.
