Did ya know this album is through-composed? Meaning it’s meant to run as an entire A-side and B-side, with transitions between the songs. If ya get a chance, we recommend listening to it in a big chunk front to back! Or at least front to middle.

Almost a week of ‘A Feather in a Hurricane’! We’re so proud 🥲 taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @oliverthecrow

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours 🦈

“Shark Tooth Hunting” is an original instrumental fiddle tune off of our new album, A Feather and a Hurricane, written by @benplotnickmusic and @kraitz during a trip to Topsail Beach, NC, where an abundance of fossilized shark teeth can be found along the shore if one only takes the time to look.

Kaitlyn wrote Shore Song back in 2020 but it never quite felt complete. The last verse only fell into place with the passing of her father, suddenly deepening and reshaping the whole song. Without even realizing it, she had written the perfect chorus for her father, who had loved the ocean so dearly, and whose presence she’ll always feel in the “salty air.”

Hear Shore Song on our newly released album, A Feather in a Hurricane, streaming now.

We are so thrilled to announce that our second album, A Feather in a Hurricane, is now available for streaming and purchase.

We hope you’ll sit down and listen to it in its entirety from start to finish. You’ll understand why pretty quickly.

This album almost didn’t happen so many times and was very much brought over the finish line by our producer and friend, Anthony da Costa. We are so grateful for your talent, enthusiasm, and patience in working on this, Anthony. Thank you for everything.

This album was made possible by the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts and our Kickstarter supporters, especially our patron level backers Grady Andrew Gibson, Jeff and Theresa Plotnick, Dan Tappan, and William Raitz.
