The Barricade Podcast is Now Live!

This is a podcast launched by OTD/OP (currently only in English) to highlight stories of working class struggle and develop the political analysis we need to fight and win.

The very first episode is focused on neighbourhood organizing and popular power, interviewing Hamna and Steve - two members of Off the Defensive who were involved in organizing our founding conference. They speak about their experience of neighbourhood organizing in Toronto, the lessons they have learned, and how OTD/OP will help us take the fight in our neighbourhoods to the next level.

OTD Ottawa spoke at the Migrant Justice rally on September 20th at the Human Rights Monument, organized by @imalliance.ottawa, @migranteottawa, @migrantsrising.ottawa, @migrantworkersalliance. We emphasized the need for the working class to unite and fight for “status for all”, as the ruling class profits not only from exploiting all workers but also from keeping us divided, especially by scapegoating migrants.

The ruling class is waging war on the working class in more ways than one. Together, we say: Shut it Down!

Across our movements, working people are united in our struggle against the aggression of the ruling class. The same asset managers and pension funds that profit from the exploitation and displacement of tenants in Ottawa also fund the arms trade and violent extraction of natural resources around the world. Solidarity means recognizing that these aren’t individual issues: We share one fight! As the largest arms fair in North America heads to Ottawa this Thursday, we say: No war but the class war, Shut Down CANSEC! by @otd.ottawa
