📚🐾 GOOD BOOKS, GREAT DOGS & SECOND CHANCES! 🐾📚

Looking for a new best friend? We’ve got a few who would LOVE to meet you! ❤️

Join Hard Luck and the Stockton Animal Shelter TOMORROW, Saturday, October 10, from 12–4 PM at Mr. Otto’s Bookstore for an afternoon of adorable adoptables, books and plenty of puppy love!

🐾 MEET THE ADOPTABLE CREW!

💕 HERA | 1 year | German Shepherd mix
This 35-pound mama watched all her puppies leave the shelter, and now it’s HER turn! She’s dog-social with easygoing pups and proudly serves as the fun police when playtime gets a little too rowdy. 😂

💛 LITTLE BIT | 4 years | Lab/Pittie mix
A whole LOT of love in one sweet girl! Little Bit is a gentle, easygoing sweetheart who loves treats, toys, sprinklers and belly rubs. She’s great on leash and enjoys easygoing dog friends.

🚨 URGENT: Little Bit needs to leave the shelter by Sunday, October 11 at 5 PM. PLEASE come meet her! 💔

🐶 BOO | 4 months | German Shepherd
No tricks here, just an adorable shepherd puppy hoping to scare up a forever family! 👻❤️

🐾 LEVI | 2 years | Australian Shepherd mix
This handsome guy is ready to meet his future people! Could that be YOU? 🥹

🐱 PLUS ADORABLE ADOPTABLE KITTIES! Because what’s better than curling up with a good book? Curling up with a good book AND a cat! 📖🐈

📚 BONUS: Hard Luck co-founder and local author Carolyn Wooddall will also be there with her children’s book, A Shelter Is… A Dog’s Journey Home! A portion of book proceeds benefits Hard Luck and the animals we serve.

📅 Saturday, October 10 | 12–4 PM
📍 Mr. Otto’s Bookstore
2310 Pacific Ave., Stockton

❤️ Can’t adopt? PLEASE SHARE! Especially for Little Bit, whose time is running out. One visit, one conversation or one share could change everything.

Come for the books. Stay for the belly rubs. Leave with a new best friend! 🐾💕

🎙️TONIGHT! Join us for our first open mic of the new season. 🍂

Our host Victorya Contreras a.k.a. The Sparkle Potato Poet is a left-handed creative from Lodi, CA. Her poetry explores themes of grief, identity, and human connection. Victorya illuminates rooms with her words, leaving glimmers of hope that we are never truly alone.

Stockton Poet Benjamin Matthew Sanchez is our featured artist. Benjamin is a half-blind, self-taught artist. A poet and published writer, he is inspired by several individuals who continue to support his journey. He writes and sketches art at the edges of blank space. Ben has won a poetry contest through our local publishers, Tuleburg Press, and is noted on multiple online poetry accounts worldwide.

All are welcome to join us whether you’re performing or just here to enjoy. Signups begin at 6pm.
