🦃🐾 HELP US GIVE STOCKTON SHELTER PETS A THANKSGIVING FEAST! 🐾🦃 This Thanksgiving, we’re serving up something extra special at the Stockton Animal Shelter, and we need YOUR help to make it happen! ❤️ While many of us will be gathering around the table with family and friends, hundreds of shelter pets will still be waiting for families of their own. But that doesn’t mean they should miss out on a little holiday magic! 🥹 We’re planning a Thanksgiving feast for our shelter dogs and cats, and we’d love your help filling their bowls with something special! HERE’S WHAT WE NEED: 🐔 Chicken 🦃 Turkey 🥔 Potatoes 🎃 Plain canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling!) Your donations will help us prepare a delicious, pet-friendly holiday meal for the animals in our care. Because every shelter pet deserves a little Thanksgiving love! 🐶🐱💕 ❤️ WANT TO HELP? 🥘 FOOD DONATIONS: Email Nic at Hello@HardLuckAWA.org to arrange a drop-off. 💰 MONETARY DONATIONS: Visit www.HardLuckAWA.org/donate or scan the QR code in our graphic to contribute! Whether you donate food, give a few dollars or simply SHARE this post, you’re helping us bring a little extra joy to animals who could really use something to be thankful for. #HardLuckAWA #StocktonAnimalShelter #ThanksgivingForShelterPets #SecondChances

🙌🏽 I took on a lot of projects these past couple months and ended up hitting 3 different events a few Saturdays ago. I’ve been regrouping ever since! My nonprofit received a grant to help promote our film festival in April, so we were able to host a screening at Mr Otto’s bookstore. Thank you to Alex for sharing their cool space with us! ☀️ That day we also tabled, performed, and paneled at Wordstock 209 at Delta college with Tuleburg Press. It was a hot day but a great time with our San Joaquin county writing community! I also had a great surprise of running into my lifelong friend Jenny who was on a panel at the same event for indie bookstores! If you haven’t checked out @riponbookstore Please do so fast! ✏️Finally, one of my poems was selected for a project in Sacramento called Journey of Hope, which uses art and poetry to share experiences with mental health. My poem got paired with an incredibly talented local artist and sculptor named Jordan, who was also from Manteca! 🚙After checking out the reception in Sac, I returned to Stockton and ended the Wordstock event with a poet laureate panel with Lathrop poet laureate. It was great to share this past week spreading the good news of what’s going on in the Central Valley! 🙌🏽I couldn’t have done it without my friends and volunteers Steff and Sai who kept me on track and brought all the coolest merch! Be sure to checkout their creative events with @in_the_margins209. 😴Well that’s all for now social media land. Until next time! #Onlinediary #busybragging #october2027 #209community #writerlife

🌙🌙🐾 VENUS IS STILL WAITING FOR HER PERSON! 🐾🌙 Sweet Venus #376052 joined us at Mr. Otto’s Bookstore this past weekend, where she handed out plenty of cuddles…but unfortunately, she’s still waiting for her forever family. ❤️ This 1-year-old, 45-pound Cattle Dog mix has come SO far since arriving at the shelter. Once a nervous girl hiding in the back of her kennel, Venus now comes forward with a very enthusiastic “HELLO!” 😂 A few reasons to fall in love: 🌙 Major cuddle bug who will happily climb into your lap ❤️ Wants to be as close to her person as physically possible 🗣️ Sweet, silly and increasingly talkative 🐶 Has participated in playgroups with males and females 💕 Does best with easy-going dogs who won’t overwhelm her 🥰 Basically looking for a human she can permanently Velcro herself to Venus went to the bookstore. She put herself out there. Now she just needs someone to choose HER. 🥹🏡 📧 FOSTER/ADOPT: sasfoster@stocktonca.gov 📧 RESCUES: sasrescue@stocktonca.gov Please SHARE and help turn Venus’ next big “HELLO!” into “WELCOME HOME!” ❤️ #HardLuckAWA #StocktonAnimalShelter #AdoptDontShop #FosterSavesLives
