After a few complex years of asking hard questions about who we are, what we’re here for, and what our community actually needs from us — we’re now clearer than ever.

It took us a while, but this is what we’ve landed on: Common Ground Civic Centre is a third space for people who care about impact — practitioners, citizens, and anyone keen to work on what’s not working.

There’s a lot we’ve learnt along the way. We’ll share more with you soon. taken in Common Ground Civic Centre by @ourcommongroundsg

There’s already a lot of conversation about why third spaces matter. Others have made that case better than we can. So instead, we wondered about what we could actually add to it.

And what that is: the chance for that case to be felt, experienced and embodied. For one day, at our third space, Common Ground Civic Centre, with our community of practitioners each advocating for their own versions of a third space.

Connecting Narratives for Change Festival 2026 is happening on Sat, 17 Oct 2026. Save the date!

Home, school, tuition, repeat. For many children, that’s the whole week. But some practitioners are trying to make room for something else.

At CNFC Festival 2026, Chuen-yin, co-founder of @bravefeats_studentcare, is joined by peers from @hereincrater and CDAC who also run third spaces for children and young people. Together, they’ll make the case for more places where young people can find out who they are, build relationships they can trust, and belong to something bigger than themselves.

For educators, youth workers, and anyone building spaces for children and young people.

Adventure doesn’t always need a boarding pass. Sometimes it starts in our own neighbourhood.

At CNFC Festival 2026, Brandon from Myles & More makes the case that adventure is less about where we go and more about how we look at things. We’ll put that to the test through creative mapping, conversation and a short wander around Bedok.

For anyone whose week has started to feel like a checklist.

The Adventure Mindset: Can Small Everyday Discoveries Add Up to a Bigger Life? | Convened by Myles & More

Behind every show, exhibition and programme is a practitioner working out how to keep it going. Usually on their own.

At CNFC Festival 2026, Firdaus from @theblacksampan brings fellow arts and culture practitioners together to talk honestly about the unseen parts of the work, including the ones that make it hard to keep the work going.

For anyone working in or championing arts and culture, and figuring out how to make it last.

What does a neurodivergent child need at seven to thrive at 27? It’s a question worth asking well before adulthood.

At CNFC Festival 2026, @inschoolsg is bringing together a panel who know this question from different sides, from the classroom and the home to their own everyday lives. Together, they’ll look at what it takes to thrive at every life stage, beyond academics and services.

For neurodivergent individuals, their families, and anyone who works alongside them.

A fallow field isn’t idle. It’s getting ready for what comes next. So what might a fallow season look like for us?

At CNFC Festival 2026, Khai Seng from @studiodojosg looks at what wears us down at work, and what it might take to rest in a way that actually renews us.

For anyone who’s been running on empty for awhile.

Starting a social enterprise is the easy part. Keeping one going for over a decade is where it might get a little absurd.

At CNFC Festival 2026, Amin from @artably.co is bringing together two fellow founders of two social enterprises, Shaun from @inclussg and Li Seng from @greennudgesg. Together, the three of them will talk about what sustaining this work really looks like, beyond the success stories.

For anyone building, working in, or thinking about starting a social enterprise, at any stage.

Before we cared for children, we were children being cared for. How much of that, and what we’ve picked up since, do we carry with us without noticing?

At CNFC Festival 2026, @playeum and @chapterzerosg open up that question through a guided conversation, with a screening of the award-winning documentary SEEN as our starting point.

For parents, educators, caregivers, and anyone with a hand in raising a child.

Circle 2 of CNFC Circles brought Cai Bingyu (@groundupinitiative) and Simone Lim (@city_sprouts) to Common Ground Civic Centre, to sit with a question many of us in the impact sector know too well: how do we balance money and mission?

The honest answer is that there isn’t a clear one. But what came up in our conversations was this: get the mission clear enough, and the money finds a way to follow.

“Focus on value first, not price.” Once the value is clear, you know if the price is worth paying.

Another idea we explored: the “Trojan horse” approach — meet people where they already are, whether they’re bought into your mission or not, and let the deeper mission reveal itself once trust is built.
