OLIC 2023!!!

I would like to give thanks to my brother who always ride along with all my crazy ideas Jhovany Torres

We came up with this idea just few days to the concert and we planned it all in just 4days.

People drove 4hours just to come witness this. I never took all these love and support for granted.

Now I know what it feels like to be loved, people singing your song word for word from A to Z. This is an experience I will forever cherished.

Enver Arbelaez Awo Olayemi my bro, thank you for the support.

Their are alot of people I should have mentioned but may Olodumare bless you all for the love and support.

Pancho loves you all ❤️❤️❤️ by @owomide256

Not so dear @solomonbbuchi

Disrespectfully, you are daft. I mean, I have to establish that known fact before going into my other points.

You posted a video recently questioning our gods. I’m supposed to post the video but I won’t, I won’t give you that visibility that you so much seek. I understand that’s how you feed and survive. Jump on trending topics for traffic on your page.

Firstly, we don’t have gods in Yoruba land, we have Orisa/Irunmole. Also, nobody is asking you or anyone to leave your God for ours. It’s a lie that needs advertising and evangelism which Christianity has been doing for years!

Secondly, you said our Orisa is dirty. This is where I realized how daft of a person you really are.

I studied Christianity just like I studied Islam to a very large extent. I have been to some churches(C$S, CCC, etc) that are built very close to river/canal and where the children defecate is just few steps away from the entrance of the church, most of these children defecate in the same river they use to bath and play in.

So does that mean, your Jesus is dirty based on what I have seen in those churches? Churches like these still exist in case you want physical proves. So your Jesus is really dirty like that???

Contrary to your shallow minded belief, the practice of Orisa is a nature based one. You are blaming Orisa for the shortcomings of humans. The Orisa teaches cleanliness, purification and neatness. It’s now left for the practitioner to follow those teachings.

Secondly, you said our gods support killing children. Kindly provide one prove, just one prove of where the Orisa supports the killing of children. You have no single proof but there in your Bible, your God killed 100s and 1000s of children, animals and more. If you need the verse, let me know.

Where do you hear that our Orisa told you to banish old people??? Solomonu, it’s like you are indirectly telling us about the atrocities your religion is committing o. It’s your religion that tells people that their mother is a witch, they shouldn’t go to their village to visit their old people because they could use their glory.

We shouldn’t forget that water that can carry all our problems away can us carry all our properties, homes and families away if care is not taken.

We need to do right by Mother Nature.

Respect is reciprocal.

As Omo Awo Ifagbenusola Popoola reminded us during Faiths for Climate Justice Week webinar, we cannot keep sand-filling waterways and coastal areas in the name of development and assume that water will simply disappear.

In Lagos, the stakes are already high. About 18% of Lagos State lies on a low-lying coastal plain prone to regular flooding, while 86% of the coastline is subject to erosion. Unregulated land reclamation, sand mining and encroachment into wetlands can further reduce the natural systems that protect communities from flooding and storm surges.

Our faith traditions call us to something different: stewardship, not domination; protection, not destruction. Across faiths, creation is understood as something sacred that carries moral responsibility.

Development should not mean fighting nature until nature fights back.

ÌṢẸ̀ṢE INSIGHT 🌿

With Ifagbenusola Owomide Popoola

Today’s question: Can someone be spiritual without belonging to any religion?

Must spirituality always exist within an organised religious system, or can a person have a genuine spiritual connection without identifying with any religion?

Watch this episode of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Insight and join the conversation.

Motherlanders, what do you think? Can spirituality exist without religion?

At the just concluded Faith for Climate Justice Week, Webinar that happened yesterday live on Zoom, important discussions relating to climate change was raised and I was the Representative of Isese on the platform. To speak from the Perspective of Ifa in relation to climate change, Ifa’s position on it and how it affects us all.

I made it known that in tackling this matter, we need to go to the genesis of it all. We as individuals also have a lot to do.

You see, these and more are part of the bigger issues facing us that really needs our attention as Onisese.

We as Onisese, we are going to be mostly affected by climate change because our belief system and spirituality is nature based. Without the plant, roots, trees, rivers and Ocean and every other natural elements, then we have absolutely nothing!

When we are ready to have these serious conversations, we will seperate the noise makers from content creators and then real speakers from clout chasers.
