If you have sensitive AND acne-prone skin, you’ll know it is a nightmare. Trying to find a product that you’re not allergic AND one that doesn’t break you out will prove to be a sure test of your patience. Trust me, I know 😅

Acne is so difficult to treat because it can present with a myriad of symptoms that need to be addressed such as dehydrated skin, redness, pain, swelling, excess oil production, wound healing, scarring, bacterial overgrowth and fungal overgrowth.

In my acne journey, I did find a product that contains a cocktail of ingredients designed to actually target a lot of the different symptoms:
🔹Glycerin - hydration
🔹Niacinamide - anti-inflammatory - soothing and redness, reduces hyperpigmentation from acne scars
🔹Procerad™ - La Roche Posay’s patented ceramide technology that prevents brown spots before they form
🔹LHA + Salicylic acid - gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogging
🔹Zinc PCA + Silica - anti-bacterial and sebum regulation
🔹Piroctone Olamine - anti-fungal that is effective against Malassezia species (for fungal acne)

I would treat this as a serum step and add it in after toning but before moisturising. Since it has a mattifying effect, I found it not to be hydrating enough for my dehydrated skin so needed an extra bit of moisture. It definitely kept my overly excited sebum glands under control though! My skin’s oiliness dialed itself down a few notches while I was using this!
