27 seconds!! Thats what kept me from a token to the 70.3 world championships…
Really, I could have easily found that time if I didn’t mess with socks in transition from swim to bike. That’s all it would have taken. Still learning each time. I’m so happy with my result with or without the pass to world champs. I absolutely obliterated my last half Ironman by almost 20 mins. Course conditions for the bike ride were absolutely perfect and I put down a great ride. Then was able to hold on to a nice run split. Cramping was a bit of an issue but I managed. The best part was knowing there was more in the tank. It’s a great feeling to know that the limiting factor wasn’t my energy or ability to push. I had to hold back on the pace so my legs didn’t lock up. Thank you so much to my wife for not only letting me put the time in to train but coming out on race day to volunteer handing out water and smack my ass for encouragement. Also my parents for their volunteering along with all the other volunteers on course. You guys make the day possible and it’s greatly appreciated. That token to worlds is coming soon. Huge thanks to
@optimistgrind for coming out and playing beats for the run aid station! Total time 4:37:41. Bike split 2:22:01 🔥and 7:22 per mile on the run 😅 so stoked.
