Tisannah has my heart, she is the FMC, she’s had a hard life growing up in a civil war, her country was taken from her and all her people made slaves. She has promised to free them and travels to another country to upgrade her magic. She becomes the apprentice to a veteran war hero , Max who has his own demons from his last that he is running from. They save eachother in many ways. But once Tisannah is forced by the government to possess a weapon and wield it, she will give anything to free her people, and max would rather let the world burn then to lose her.

I’m so in awe of this series, Carissa Broadbent is one of my all time favourite authors! Tisannah’s and Max’s relationship lives forever in my heart, they are so perfect🫶🏻 this whole story is so dear to me, especially the plot twist that happens in book two ! When two more very important characters are introduced, you don’t know who to root for, the misunderstood morally grey “villian” or our leading couple.

I havnt felt like this since reading Throne of Glass 🫶🏻 the characters, the plot, the deep thoughtful intricate feelings and morals of this story. It was gut wrenching , I couldn’t put this series down!

I highly recommend if you are interested in high fae fantasy with original magic systems and a whirlwind romance. With the best morally grey “villian” I’ve ever read, the pov was sensational and I was on their side half the time. This trilogy really brought a new meaning to injustice, and vengeance.
