Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer but had successful surgery to remove a lower lobe of his right lung, the Vatican has said.

He had the 90-minute surgery at Rome's Gemelli Hospital and was then diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma.

It comes after the lump was detected during routine checks.

Romanticising life might actually be the point 🪵🦌🏰

📖 We are all books, but not everyone will take the time to read us.

Some will judge us by our appearance.
Some will form opinions after a few pages.
Some will believe what others have said about us without ever knowing our story.

But a few will be patient enough to look beyond the cover, understand the chapters we rarely speak about, and accept the parts of our story that aren’t easy to tell.

Because knowing someone takes time.
Understanding someone takes patience.
And truly seeing someone takes a heart willing to look beyond the obvious.

You don’t have to be understood by everyone. Sometimes, all you need is someone who is willing to read beyond the first page. 🤍

Save this as a reminder: never judge a person before you’ve taken the time to know their story.
