Trap the heat.

Designed by Christophe Guberan and Camille Blin for ReThink, the Augmented Curtain is a new type of curtain that reduces heat loss in winter and moderates temperature gain in summer.

@christopheguberan and @camillebien Unfortunately the insulative properties of this design are significantly lost due to the offset of the curtain from where it is suspended. This offset permits a convection current whenever there is a temperature differential between the air in front and behind the curtain. e.g. On a hot day, the air between the glazing and curtain will increase. This causes the warm air to rise and spill over the top of the curtains into the room. Cooler air will then be sucked in from the bottom due to the vaccuum of the hot air escaping above- permitting a convection current that heats up the air in the room. To mitigate this, the curtains must be raised to the ceiling to obliterate this space, or to the top of a pelmet if one is installed.
