🎉 The Inaugural Florida Trail Fest at Foster State Park! 🌿🚶♂️
What started as a simple gathering of thru-hikers celebrating Billygoat Day has grown into something even bigger—Florida Trail Fest!
For years, Billygoat Day has been an annual meetup at Lake Mills Park, organized entirely by the amazing Trail Angels of FT Thru Hike to celebrate legendary hiker Billygoat’s birthday. It’s a time for thru-hikers, past and present, to reunite, swap stories, and share their love for the Florida Trail.
This year, we took that spirit and expanded it into a full-blown festival—bringing together hikers, trail angels, and conservationists to celebrate the trail that connects us all. Minor hiccups? Sure. But the camaraderie, the kindness of strangers, and the joy of shared adventure made it all worth it.
✨ Personal highlight? Seeing thru-hikers take a moment to play with our little one—a reminder that the trail is about more than just miles; it’s about the people. And reconnecting with familiar faces, knowing no time or distance changes the bond we share? Pure magic.
This event was the fruit of our labor, a dream made reality. And this is only the beginning.
