From the rising and setting sun glistening through the trees, the cold crisp air filled not by silence, but the sweet chirps of the birds, the low rumbling sounds of the elephants calling on one another that hit you deep in your chest, to being fully knowing that even if not seen, surrounding you is a whole array of wildlife swallowed and disguised by the dense African bush…I am truly humbled. My experience at Tembe is almost impossible to put into words because you have to feel it to truly understand.
Apart from the incredible animals we got to see, learning about the history and heritage of the park and its people, and the warmth and hospitality shown to us, made it that much more special. One thing that has stuck with me, and that I’ll never forget is upon arrival, we weren’t greeted with ‘Welcome to Tembe Elephant park’, we were greeted with ‘Welcome home’ and that’s exactly what it felt like from the moment we placed our feet on the sandy terrain…home 🫀
Forever grateful to my amazing friends from
@packed.za for giving us the opportunity to come along on this trip and be apart of documenting this incredible story that is Tembe. Fun was had, delicious food was eaten, memories were made and most importantly, stories were told ✨
Thank you
@tembeelephant - I hope I have the absolute honor and privilege of visiting someday again 🤍
