I naravno, mojim ljudima, zbog kojih je vrijedilo sve ovo organizovati. Volim vas ❤️

After years of pouring my heart and soul into creating one of the happiest places for dogs, today we had to say goodbye to it.

Over the years, I welcomed so many visitors, including news channels, who saw with their own eyes some of the healthiest, happiest, and most well-behaved dogs.

And do you know why? Because to me, sheltering was never about collecting animals or simply giving them a roof over their heads. It was about creating a proper system that cared for both their physical and emotional well-being. I wanted them to feel happy, loved, secure, and understood.

Many families local and overseas found their best friends through us, and that alone made every struggle worth it.

I still remember going from one scrapyard to another, trying to buy every little piece we needed to build this place, negotiating with my broken Arabic. I built so much of it from scratch, figuring things out as I went.

People told me, “Elika, it’s too hard. You can’t do it.”

But I did.

And what we created became one of the best places I could have ever imagined for my dogs.

I spent years studying animal behaviour, learning from experience, and collaborating with international rescue groups because I wanted us to improve every single day. I never believed that rescuing an animal was enough. I believed we had a responsibility to give them a life worth living.

And that is exactly what I tried to do.

Today, saying goodbye to this place hurts more than I can explain. Because to others, it may have looked like just a place for dogs. But to me, it was years of hard work, sacrifices, lessons, memories, and thousands of little moments of happiness.

We may have lost the place we built, but what we achieved there or the lives we changed along the way is forever.

I have never felt this but I truly feel lost…

There’s a first for everything i suppose…

Taking in the beauty of Sardinia, one vineyard at a time.

Surrounded by endless rows of vines, Mediterranean sunshine, and some of the most beautiful landscapes this island has to offer. There’s something special about slowing down, looking around, and appreciating the work and tradition behind every vineyard.

And of course, bringing a little @jjmalibu style along for the adventure. Flexing a little, enjoying the scenery, and making the most of another unforgettable day in Sardinia.

Good views, great weather, strong energy, and the perfect summer attitude.

Sardinia really knows how to make every moment look good. 🇮🇹
