This was an article I had written when I was expecting baby number 2 for @scottishdental magazine about #maternity in #orthodontics. Unfortunately, it’s still an on-going issue for women in the specialty in Scotland. @bosbraces #equalityindentistry

Excellent writing Laura and a very important topic to highlight. I received no maternity pay as I had not worked for 2 years in the NI health service, despite ONLY working for NHS practice and hospitals during the duration of my postgraduate training. I went back to work 8am-6pm 3 days per week 6 weeks after my first child and had slightly longer off with my second, only because of COVID and practices closed. There is no respect for the specialist nature of our treatment provided, the inability to recruit locums and the payment issues which arise from fee per item in Orthodontics.

👏This is excellent Laura. Well done for continuing to highlight. This is shocking there is still no movement on this!
