America is a Gun.

I had no words after the two shootings yesterday, and this poem shook my to my core.
Singing the words helped me navigate their power and my own sadness.

I began singing Brians words last week after the Minneapolis shooting and didn’t post because it felt too personal, even though it wasn’t even my words.

That’s the thing about lyrics though. or poetry. Once you write it, it’s no longer yours. The words become whatever someone needs to hear.

I hope we can find the humanity to disagree without playing God from now on.
