Shop their new publication highlighting the work of Derek Fordjour. ‘Magic, Mystery & Legerdemain,’ a new catalogue published by the gallery exploring Fordjour’s 2022 exhibition at their LA location, is available now for pre-order.
Taking its title from the magician Black Herman’s 1938 autobiographical book, ‘Black Herman’s Secrets of Magic, Mystery and Legerdemain,’ Fordjour’s exhibition provided a multifaceted forum in which Fordjour explored magic as it relates to power, race, and a myriad of illusions throughout American history. The publication features two unique covers, performance documentation, texts by Uri McMillan and Taylor Bythewood-Porter, and a conversation between Fordjour and Numa Perrier, who co-wrote and directed the magic show that was a part of the 2022 exhibition.
