Saturday night was tender, brave & deeply moving.
Thank you dear @louisafofie, Founder of @lawandbeauty and team. I’m so grateful to you for curating this beautiful event.
You created an intentional, warm space where care, grace & sisterhood were felt in every detail.
All our senses were nourished, from the delicious bites and drinks to the heartfelt conversations🙏🏾💝💫
When Louisa invited me as Keynote Speaker to share my breast cancer story, I felt honoured.
I’ve spoken about my journey & breast cancer awareness before, but never have I shared such deeply personal reflections with a room full of extraordinary women.
This time I wanted to voice what often goes unspoken: the real talks with our inner circle, intimacy after diagnosis, survival mode, loneliness & a holistic path to recovery.
But the true eye-opener was talking about grief and survivor’s guilt & finding the courage to search for purpose again.
The way you listened, responded and shared made this moment profoundly healing. Some of us allowed our hearts to break a little, making room for the pain we often push away.
Vulnerability turned into unity, a gentle reminder that when we dare to speak, we find relief & comfort together.
And what a lineup of speakers:
✨ Dr. Nora Larbi @jetaimenvl , surgeon-to-be, offered clear, interactive guidance on breast self-exams & separated facts from myths.
✨ @kira.samana, survivor, spoke with humour & honesty about the uncomfortable interactions that come with a diagnosis.
✨ @claryscheres, founder of @proudbreast, showed how innovation & empathy restore confidence and comfort, together with ambassador @positivi_tiet, who shared her inspiring journey through her book.
✨ And @nanafofiee, Law & Beauty ambassador, showed what it means to stand by your sister with love and unwavering strength.
💫 And of course, all of you who shared your journeys and experiences.
I’m beyond grateful for my own circle of sisters & cousins who stood beside me that evening.
Sharing my story let me look back at my 30-year-old self with grace and gratitude. 💞
