2025 was a rough year for a lot of people. I did my fourth collection for @hatsgiving through my job and it was a struggle this year. Overall we received 1391 hats, almost 600 less than last year. My knitting friends and I got 48 hats together, a bit less than half of last year. I'm not upset because even a single hat is going to help keep someone warm.

I knit a lot less this year because of injury and mental health. I know a lot of people have had similar struggles. People also had a lot of charities looking for knitted items, so they wanted to spread their support. I want to thank those of you who did take the time to donate. Those of you who donated in the past and couldn't this year, thank you for sending messages of support. Those of you who wanted to donate and couldn't for whatever reason, thank you for considering. Even having people keep me in mind to support each year is a huge blessing.

I'll be doing this again next year as well, so if you want to, keep me in mind for next year. I collect hats any time of year, but our main collection is August to mid November.

Crafters have been some of the most giving people I have ever known. I hope I am able to get more charity knits completed in 2026.
