It’s time to reintroduce myself! Hi! My name is Meghan and I started Then Came June back in 2016. My son was born in 2014 in the month of June (hence the name) and I started my journey into motherhood through postpartum depression. This brought me to quilting as a way for me to find small joys in my day, feel a sense of individual purpose and it developed my ability to create beauty out of chaos.
I’ve grown this pattern business over the last almost nine years now on my intuition, my instinct, my need to create to process, my love of color and my desire to help others feel what I felt when making a quilt - excitement, joy, power, clarity, and the ability to feel seen. Authenticity is one of my guide posts to everything I do. I am honest, I am encouraging, I am direct, I am kind, I am here to build community.
I am a human who is always evolving, learning, growing, experiencing, stumbling, fighting and loving. I want you to show up messy, polished, crying, laughing, light, heavy, scared, excited, happy, depressed. Every single one is welcome here.
Everything I do, create, make, sell, is based on my personal existence. What I am inspired by or trying to process. I am part of every single thing I do and make - photography, quilts, palettes, merch, emails, newsletters, captions - I will share what is important to me.
I believe in the freedom to love whoever you want to love. I believe we should all have freedom of healthcare. I believe we all have a right to our speech. I believe democracy is worth fighting for and we are desperately needing it now.
If you want to see a 38-year-old woman share about mental health experiences, sobriety, puzzles, life scenes, journal entries, the shit show our country is right now and things important to her, please stay! All of these things are outside of quilting but absolutely inform my art. If not, you’re welcome to leave and find a different community to be a part of, no need to announce the departure.
Love you all! - Meghan
