5 years ago , I took a “high-risk” leap of faith and moved to California.
I thought I knew why I was coming.
But tell God your plans… and He’ll laugh.
What I came here for and what I found are two completely different things.
In these five years, I have experienced growth and loss ✨ sometimes both at the same time. A stretching of my faith. A refining of my identity. A creativity that has poured out of me in ways I didn’t know were possible.
They say you pay for the weather here… but I think the sunshine has done my body and spirit good.
I would not have made it through without the family and friends who held me before I left , and the community that caught me when I landed. You know who you are. 💜
Year five feels different. Softer. Wiser. Braver.
And I’m reminded: it’s never too late to start over. To pivot. To try something new. To open another door. To say yes to the unexpected.
So here’s to continuing to California dream ☀️ and to trusting the God who writes better stories than I ever could.
Grateful. Always.
