I was deep-diving into art history to expand my perspective when I stumbled upon this gem from a 1956 interview with Marcel Duchamp.

I agree. I also know that people doing pure science or any such pure study are true individuals as well. There are a whole lot of artists involved in various fields.

But can an animal produce art or something close to it? Is honeybee nest an art ,is birds nes an art? Is concept of 'art' solely restricted to humans/humane side of nature?

True to some extent, but conversely we have to think about The Death of the Author, because the collective consciousness is to heavily at work with any kind of representation. Plus Duchamp was the king of Appropriation which has zero to do with individuality so he is somewhat full of hot air.

Me 3 AM before sleep, pretending that I am a famous philosopher answering questions I made up:

I mean... maybe we should put real animals on pedestals 🥺

Yes, I like Duchamp... but I also believe art is about finding our way back to nature — where the true art already exists. Animals keep us connected to what we are. Instead of wanting more, we should learn to appreciate what is. In a way, it’s not about moving forward, but returning.

Is there any gallery owner who knows what he's talking about or does just sound chique and expensive? @phantom190174 🔥
