When I first was inspired to do this photoshoot, I reached out to Lynsey & had just decided I wanted to start modeling back in 2019 after ending my soccer career overseas. I didn’t know what I wanted to do next but I knew I wanted to create and start my journey in entrepreneurship.

Growing up, my mom had always taken us kids to different modeling jobs, loved taking our photos and would encourage us to express ourselves. Modeling has allowed me to feel confident and unapologetically myself no matter who I choose to show up to be that day & I love how much I’ve grown through this industry.

I’ve always adored this photo of my mom so much as a young model, I decided to recreate this photo of her ready to start my modeling journey!!! (Swipe right 🤭)

6 years later & my bestie also had plans of her own to launch her own media company & magazine @laydymag 📸 I hired Lynsey when I was at Flatstick as a social media manager after knowing her since high school and creatively, we always clicked.

I feel so lucky to be apart of this journey and be represented on the cover of her first issue 🥹❤️ Growing up, I always wanted to see women in magazines that looked like me. REPRESENTATION MATTERS — it’s why my mom continued to model & carve space for women of color in this industry and it’s why I continue to dream BIG — you are limitless ✨ remember that ☝🏽
