Also worth mentioning, I felt SO tempted to edit this photo before posting it. It’s so easy to pick out every single flaw, especially at a time where my body still doesn’t feel like mine. But at least for today, I’m choosing to embrace myself as I am. It’s a weird dichotomy to recognize and honor how much my body went through to make the incredible tiny human (who is currently napping on my chest), yet still want that same body to “bounce back.” But I look at my daughter and think about how it would break my heart if she ever thought she was anything less than perfect. And so today, as my mother’s daughter, and my daughter’s mother, I allow myself to feel like I’m enough, exactly as I am right now.

2018: 7pm, I had just finished at the gym, and you called me like, “drop everything and meet me at Staples Center in 45 minutes—I got us friends and family tickets to see Elton John.” To this day, I have no idea how I managed to shower, get dressed, and get from the Grove to Staples in 45 minutes (IYKYK). Thank you for letting me scream Benny and the Jets in your ear 😂 Also… bonus memory: getting poached off the tour we met on, making the jump from NYC to LA, and getting to be coworkers for such a fun chapter in my life (except the cotton candy machine LOL). Love you happy birthday beautiful!
