I spent my 20s being relatively well known for wearing black.
I think most of us thought it was a fashion thing but, as I've started on my path of "doing the work" I've come to realise it wasn't just about aesthetics.
It was safety.
For a nervous system that grew up in survival mode, wearing all black meant I didn't have to think, and it also meant I was less likely to be perceived.
Now, somewhere in my 30s as I try to figure out my style postpartum, I've found myself curating a wardrobe of sustainable, Australian brands who use natural fabrics - like the incredible
@moonface.clothing.
I've also found myself reaching for colour.
Maybe after all this time,
I feel ready to be perceived 🖤
