Everyone wants a 🏆 but few will do the work
In my career I've noticed a lot of trends. One of which is universal across the board. Everyone wants to be "the best" but very few do the work.
No matter what what your career path, or where you live, the best advice anyone could ever receive, is to not be afraid of the work. The work is where all the magic happens. Its where the lessons are learned, mistakes are made, actual growth happens.
The challenges you face will break the person you once were to be molded into a stronger version of yourself. The lessons build character and relationships. You will gain skills and perspectives that no one will ever be able to take from you.
On this project, when I designed and sold it, I had 7 people aligned for a 4 night project. Before the project even started, I lost 4 but gained 2 more. The first night we started with 5 people, but lost another the first night.
My team that stayed worked some long days and nights to get this done. While I made sure my team got rest through the week, I stayed on site to keep working. We started Monday at 5pm and left Friday morning at 10am.
In that time I personally spent 74 hours on site working because refuse to accept excuses instead of delivery results. While I basically lived in the unit all week, it still wouldn't have been possible without the support of my team on this project.
