![🔱 THE DEVI KAVACH: A SACRED PRAYER FOR PROTECTION BY MAA DURGA 🌺
What if a single stotra could become the beginning of your journey into the profound world of Devi Upasana?
The Devi Kavach, also known as the Chandi Kavach, is an important part of the Durga Saptashati recitation tradition. It is a sacred prayer invoking Maa Durga and the many forms of Devi for protection and divine grace. 🪷
✨ One of its verses says:
यं यं चिन्तयते कामं, तं तं प्राप्नोति निश्चितम्।
It speaks of the desires one seeks to fulfil through this sacred practice.
What makes the Devi Kavach so beautiful is the detail of its prayers. It invokes Devi’s protection in all ten directions and throughout the body, from the head to the feet. It also extends beyond physical protection, praying for the wellbeing of the mind, intellect, dharma, family and different aspects of life.
🌺 The Chandi Kavach reminds us of the many forms through which we seek the grace and protection of Maa Durga, Chandika and Adi Shakti.
Have you heard that the Devi Kavach should not be read without diksha? Traditions and guidance can differ, so if you are unsure about formal recitation, seek guidance from a knowledgeable teacher. You can begin by listening and learning the verses with reverence.
🙏 The complete Devi Kavach with Sanskrit lyrics and careful pronunciation is now available on my YouTube channel.
Save this Reel and share it with a fellow Devi Bhakt. 🔱
Jai Mata Di! 🌺
