Akiro in River North is one of those sushi spots you’ll forever tell people about. Sitting right up at the bar to one of their four hand roll bars, you will get to experience the true precision and perfection that comes along with their delicious hand rolls and nigiri.

We came and tried just about every option on the menu, and believe us when we say there was not a single bad bite! Our favorites were the tuna nigiri, a dish that sounds so simple, but that’s is delivered with startling perfection. We also loved the Acevichado and the Octopus Anticucho, two hand rolls absolutely packed with tuna octopus respectively, and filled to the brim with flavors of Japan and Peru. And, don’t miss out on their Matcha Tres Leches cake. Chris is a tres leches stan, and this is one of his favorites!
