There’s still time to view ‘Erick Víquez: A Los Animales Los Mata el Sol’ in person at Laundromat Art Space through July 8.
Gallery hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 12–4 PM, and by appointment.
Drawing from photographic archives and vernacular histories, Víquez’s paintings inhabit a rural landscape marked by distance, silence, and lingering tension. In these works, the tropics emerge not as a site of abundance, but as a psychologically charged space where memory and atmosphere shape the image as much as the landscape itself.
