I’ve never been more proud to be part of a community and an American than today @stlukeseasthampton where we enjoyed readings ranging from Paul Revere’s Ride, The Declaration of Independence and George Washington’s Farewell Address to the Gettysburg Address, JFK’s Inaugural Address and Douglas MacArthur’s End of Hostilities. @marshallwatsondesigner delivered the Declaration of Independence with “Glory Glory Alleluia” wafting in the background. We celebrated patriotic hymns like “America the Beautiful”, “Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies”, “Oh Say Can You See”, “God Bless America” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”. Our Priest who is also the Chaplain for the Coast Guard reminded us to protect and respect our Island in full military dress. Colonel Mulford’s Revolutionary War jacket on loan from the @easthamptonhistory hung at the altar. The service represented all that is good and pure and reminded me that regardless of denomination you must believe to receive. Faith reigns. God Bless America. 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
