Garry Bell- Official

Some stories can’t be written… they unfold.

This year marks 20 years since I opened my very first martial arts gym.

Back in 2006, that gym was called Brawler. Later that year, Brawler transformed into Contender Gym. Looking back now, I realise that was the start of a journey that changed my life.

Fast forward 20 years…

I’m now featured as a fighter in my first martial arts action movie…

And it’s called BRAWLER.

When I stopped and thought about it, it honestly gave me goosebumps. It felt like all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle had finally come together.

As a kid, I was obsessed with martial arts movies. I’d watch them over and over, recreate the fight scenes and dream that one day I’d be part of one.

Now that dream has become reality.

I’m proud to feature as a fighter in BRAWLER, the upcoming action thriller directed by and starring Scott Adkins in his feature directorial debut. It’s an honour to be part of such an incredible project.

Ironically, for Contender Gym’s 20th anniversary, I’d been thinking about making a documentary called Brawler: The Rise of Contender. Looking back now, it’s amazing how the name Brawler has followed me throughout my life.

I truly believe everything happens for a reason.

This is only the beginning. I’ve got more action movie projects in the pipeline, so… watch this space.

Contender Gym will always be my home. Thank you to our amazing coaches, staff and members who have been part of this incredible 20-year journey.

A massive thank you to Scott Adkins, the entire production team, stunt team, camera crew, make-up artists, wardrobe, runners, and everyone behind the scenes. Special thanks to Caged Steel for hosting such a professional event. My first movie experience is one I’ll never forget.

The poster isn’t the official movie poster. It’s a fan-made poster I had created because I’m genuinely excited to help promote this amazing film. 🎬🍿

Always believe in the power of your dreams.
