I was invited to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by the incredible Designer @korinaemmerich and Material Collaboration in the Ancient Andean Weaving Gallery and The Oceanic Gallery, The Michael C. Rockefeller Wing.
She is the first fashion designer invited to join the Explorations program where we had the honor to present EMME Studios preview collection “Material Lineages” built entirely from the offcuts of her previous collections over the past decade. She beautifully expressed that there is value in honoring what has been discarded.
Featuring performer and composer @maliobomsawin , with Artist and Model @brooklynwarmi we reflected on our personal connection to Andean textiles at @relativeartsnyc where I shared the story of my abuelitas weaving practice and my youngest sister’s genetic remembrance.
